SUPPORT THE CHILDREN

We passionately focus on Matthew 25:35-40. Truly, I say to you, as you did it (love supported and fed), to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

There are many people to help but not many that is willing to help.

We pray to Christ that He send labors, Luke 10:2  'the harvest is plentiful but the labors are few.'

Feed Thy Neighbor

Second Greatest Commandment.

Love thy neighbor

In Luke 10:29 'But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus,

“And who is my neighbor?”

But Jesus explained it with an illustration (parable)

  • One person was an avoider, bypass the problem pretending they didn't notice it. Luke 10:31 'when he saw him he passed by on the other side.'

  • One person was an inquirer, watch the news, listen to the stories and know about the problem but do not get involved. Luke 10:32 'when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.'

  • One person was truly concerned, felt that this could have been him. Luke 10:32 came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.

We should not be Good Samaritans,

We should be Faithful Christians.

The parable told by Jesus to address our self-righteousness went beyond just compassion.

  1. Volunteered (Binded up his wounds, took him to a place in town to shelter him. The Man did not leave there he was passing by on a journey). Luke 10:34 'Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.'

  2. Donated (The man paid for food and addressed the needs, in fact he pledged continued support and not just a onetime thing). Luke 10:35 'he took out two denarii, gave to the innkeeper, Requested someone local to ‘Take care of him, and pledged 'whatever more you spend, I will repay you'  he also promised that he will come back.

We need your help, helping the people of Gary (and Northwest) Indiana

'Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will repay him for his deed.'
